Amy Poehler, who was born in Newton, Massachusetts in 1971, is an incredibly gifted performer, comic, author, and producer.
She is well-known for her work in both television and film and is highly regarded as a major influential figure in the comedy industry.
Amy commenced her journey in the comedy world in the early 1990s as an actor in the Upright Citizen Brigade improvisation team in New York.
In 2001, she got her first major television role as a performer on the long-running sketch show “Saturday Night Live”. During her stay there, she created multiple renowned characters and impressions, becoming one of the most noteworthy cast members of her time.
Upon leaving “Saturday Night Live”, Amy co-developed and acted in the widely praised and fan-favorite comedy show “Parks and Recreation” (NBC) as Leslie Knope, a character that got her a Golden Globe nomination.
